    I would have to say no. I have tried baking small items in the toaster oven. I have not had the greatest success…cooks too slow in the middle of the food and before it’s fully cooked it ends up too brown on the outside. I think they are only good for frozen pizza’s and things of that nature.

    Yes, I have used for many years. After having decreased back to 2 in our household, using the same recipe portions, but downsizing the baking dish size, and freezing the rest in portions for two is quite an efficient way to cook. The toaster oven makes great sense to use in our coastal Texas climate: less fuel, heats the house up less and cooks very well. I do not use it for broiling as I do not want the mess….save it for my hubby to cook out side on the grill!
    Keep in mind it must be a true toaster oven, not just a glorified horizontal toaster.

    A Toaster Oven (Countertop Oven) may heat less evenly than larger electric ovens.

    Toaster ovens bake like a regular oven without the fan used by a convection oven.

    Don’t confuse “conventional ovens” with “convection ovens”.

    “A conventional oven bakes your food with out any sort of air flow. most recipes for baking anything in an oven the times are based on conventional ovens.
    A “convection oven” has a little fan in the back which circulated the heat around what your cooking for a quicker more even cooking method. these ovens also allow you to cut maybe 5 – 15 min off your cook time, but watch out for baking time. when ever i bake any sort of pie or cake i use a conventional oven.”
