Didn’t Ellen come out on the Oprah Winfrey show? Does anybody know where you can see it? Thanks.

:-) so funny…there were house parties back in the day when this aired….and really big celebrations at gay bars, too! Now you can’t even find a decent gay bar.

Moral of the story, get a friend to come out, get a toaster oven….

I think the toaster oven thing comes from the first part of the episode in which Susan tells Ellen that she was close to getting a toaster oven if she had recruited her to be gay….Anyway, I’ve been looking for this, thank you so much!!

To all the people talking about the origins of the toaster comment and wondering if Ellen was where the ‘new recruit toaster’ came from — it *originally* comes from banks. Starting way back in the 1950s, banks would promote their services with giveaways, or ‘premiums’ for new business. The big trend was to give away a toaster with every new account. No, really. It’s true. Ask your grandma. (Or Google it.)
