Did I Get Ripped Off When The Store Delivered My Online Order (kitchen Appliances) With Different Brand/model?

I originally ordered 2 items:
1 Black and Decker Toaster Oven Model TRO211 $48. 58 US Dollars
1 Daiwa Electric Stove (double range) )for countertop) *1000 watts* $31. 36 US Dollars
(I was apparently also charged $10. 99 US Dollars more for using PayPal?, is this legal? or can they just really really mess with a foreign exchange rate? Purchase was at a foreign store)
What was actually delivered to my family:
1 “Proctor Silex” Toaster Oven Model 31114
1″Windmere” Electric Stove (double range) for countertop *1650 watt*
Was I ripped off? Was my family delivered inferior product brand?
AND Can the exchange rate be $11 off or an $11 Pay Pay fee?
(I am not a business, just a regular Pay Pal user. )
Note: Exchange rate official on purchase date $1 US Dollar = $35. 9241 pesos. Country: Dominican Republic, Free Delivery. Taxes are always included in price there.
I didn’t see exchange rates or Pay Pal mentioned in Terms of service, only that I would be charged in dollars if I used Pay Pal.

Think Small For Kitchen Savings

It seems as if the cost of living just keeps going up and our paychecks aren’t. With the increases we are seeing in grocery bills, gasoline prices and utilities, every little bit helps when it comes to cutting back expenses. One way to save in the kitchen is to practice cooking minimalism. Use as small a pan, oven, water and cooking time as possible to get your food prepared. Don’t take repeated looks into the oven while cooking. Here are some ways to cut costs in the kitchen: 1. Use the smallest possible appliance. Microwaves, toaster ovens and electric frying pans use about half the wattage as a full size oven does. 2. Use the smallest pan possible and make sure the gas flame or electric burner doesn’t extend past the edges of the pan. 3. Use a lid when cooking with a pan. Cooking without a lid can triple your energy costs. 4. Defrost items in the refrigerator before cooking them. 5. Stagger the placement of your pans in the oven to ensure good air flow. Don’t line your oven racks with foil. 6. Use glass or ceramic pans which use less heat for cooking. 7. When cooking, make double portions and freeze half of it. Reheating will take less energy than cooking from scratch. 8. When using a microwave, place food near the outer edges of the rotating tray for faster cooking and less energy use. 9. Keep your oven and stove top clean. When food gets cooked on surfaces it will absorb the heat and cut energy efficiency. Following these easy tips can help you to cut back on your utility expenses without sacrificing the pleasure of having great meals at home.

Small Appliances No Kitchen Should Be Without

The world of technology is ever expanding, and thankfully these technological advances have spilled over into the culinary world in the form of appliances. The availability and variety of appliances are vast, with new inventions and improvements popping up every day! In this article, we’re going to talk about a few appliances that aren’t new inventions by any means, but have been improved nearly beyond recognition!Slow CookerThe slow cooker is a pretty basic appliance. It consists of an electric housing unit (usually metal) in which a large ceramic pot is inserted, complete with lid. Slow cookers are called such because they do genuinely cook slowly compared to a microwave or toaster oven. Slow cookers are ideal for recipes that allow you to simply chuck in all of the ingredients and leave it to cook. Stew, soup, chilli, nacho cheese, and pot roast are excellent examples of dishes that cook well in a slow cooker. Over the years, here hasn’t been much advancement with slow cookers, save for the fact that many brands have now gone digital—which means you can program it to shut off at a certain time. Is that handy, or what? This “set it and leave it” approach to cooking is brilliant for those who lead a busy lifestyle but want to enjoy a warm, cooked meal at the end of the day. Bread MachineBread machines, as the small household appliance that we know today, can be traced back to 1986, although they didn’t really catch on until the mid-nineties. Bread machines take all the work out of bread making—and you bakers out there understand how laborious the task can be! With a bread machine, you load up the necessary ingredients, shut the lid, and press the button for the appropriate setting. The machine uses a dough hook to mix and knead the dough, then it heats up slightly to allow the dough to rise. After it has risen, the hook resumes kneading for a few minutes, and then the machine heats up and cooks the bread. Voila—homemade bread!Toaster OvenHeat, toast, bake, and broil—toaster ovens can do it all! While a toaster oven might be a miracle to some kitchens, it may not get nearly as much use in others. Toasted sandwiches, crispy French fries, pizza, cookies, Cornish hens—virtually any small dishes you bake in your oven can be cooked in a countertop oven. Food ProcessorFood processors have been used in a domestic fashion since the early 70′s, and it’s no wonder why they’re still widely used today. Chopping, dicing, and slicing by hand takes ages of time, but a food processor does all of that in seconds! Fruit and vegetables can easily be prepared for salads, sauces, or pureed for homemade baby food. While there are digital food processors on the market, it simply hasn’t caught on quite yet as food processing doesn’t really utilize a digital display to the full advantage. Electric SteamerThis is likely to be one of the most health-promoting appliances you can own! When vegetables are boiled or baked, most of the nutrients flow out with the juices, leaving the veggies low in both nutrients AND flavour. However, steaming food allows it to be thoroughly cooked and still remain healthful. And steamers aren’t just for cooking vegetables, either! You can steam chicken, fish, and even rice. Most steamers come with “tiers” or trays, so you can steam all of your food at once. The digital feature really did kick off with steamers, as programmable features and an automatic shut-off function add to the convenience of this appliance. You might own some of these appliances, and you might not own a single one. Not all kitchens have the space or the need for these terrific items, but some people truly can reap the benefits that these machines have to offer. Ask yourself this: could YOU benefit from one—or a few—of these machines?

How to choose kitchen appliances

There is such a vast array of kitchen appliances that there seems to be something for every job in the kitchen. It can be a bewildering experience to try to sift through such a seemingly endless choice. However, with a little care and time spent on the task, you could have the perfect kitchen with just the right number and types of appliance. So, how do you go about choosing what you need? Make a list of absolute essentials which will include such things as a cooker, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle and dishwasher. You might then like to include such things as a microwave oven, food processor, toasted sandwich maker and a coffee maker. Of course you will have your own ideas about what you want in your kitchen and that is why making a list is a good idea. When choosing your large appliances, you need to consider whether they will be ‘stand alone’ or built in to a fitted kitchen. Stand alone will give you a greater choice and flexibility on size, height and colour. However, built in will make your kitchen look neater as your appliances will be hidden behind the same doors that are on your kitchen cupboards. Cookers use either gas or electricity and your first choice will be which fuel yours will use. After that, cookers come in many guises and in some cases, in several parts depending on the layout of your kitchen. Your refrigerator is a vital piece of kitchen equipment and you have the choice of combined fridge freezer or fridge by itself. Which you have is down to the amount of space you have available and also to personal choice. A stand alone fridge comes in many sizes and shapes and you can have anything from a huge American style one to a small under counter one. If you decide to have a separate freezer, your choice is to have one of the larder types or a chest freezer and again there is a lot of choice regarding size. Dishwashers also come in a vast range of sizes and it would be wise to consider your actual needs here before choosing. Smaller kitchen appliances such as kettles and toasters come in many shapes and sizes, so it is down to personal choice as to what you choose. A cheap kettle can be just as good as a designer one, so don’t automatically go for the most expensive one. You should try to choose kitchen appliances which have a good energy rating, this will not only save on your carbon footprint, but it will save you money as these appliances will use less electricity. There are many well known brands and if you have a particular preference, then have a look at the range they offer. Set a sensible budget and stick to it. Do some research and get reviews on each type of appliance so that if there are any major pluses or minuses, you are aware of them. Only buy appliances that you really want and will be happy with because they will be with you for many years.
